For more than 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester has been enabling life- changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people in Colchester County and surrounding communities. Now based in North River, the organization matches volunteer mentors with youth in our region who could benefit from a supportive, encouraging relationship with an adult or peer.

BBBS Colchester is currently looking to hire a Marketing and Public Relations Assistant for a 4-month contract based at our office in Truro. Full-time position, wage is $16.00 per hour.

Position overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Marketing and Public Relations Assistant will be primarily responsible for collaborating with the other members of the BBBS team and Executive Director to identify the most effective ways of promoting the brand and strategic vision of the Agency. Emphasis will be placed on event coordination, public relations, and establishing strong partnerships within local community groups to increase our impact and amplify our voice. This position will also include other administrative responsibilities as assigned. This will include:

Areas Of Responsibility:

· Work alongside the fundraising coordinator to grow current fundraisers and establish new fundraising opportunities

· Ensure clear and concise communication with all internal and external partners, both prior to and during the execution of any events

· Developing and implementing strategies for volunteer recruitment for all programs

Skills/Qualifications And Requirements

· Proven effectiveness in a team environment

· Experience in planning and coordinating events

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Excellence in communicating vision that aligns with branding standards, with strengths in written communication

· Attention to detail, with strengths in review, editing, and design details

· Highly developed organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, handling competing priorities and deadlines effectively and efficiently

· Critical thinking skills that allow for appropriate prioritization of tasks

In addition to this, the agency requires the candidate to have:
