COMMUNITY GARDEN membership form

We’re so excited to to be offering a community garden! “Simone’s Garden of Friendship” has come to life thanks to the generosity of our Red Woof Inn Doggie Daycare woofpack and funding received from the provincial government. It is our goal to provide a family-friendly, safe space for new and experienced gardeners to plant, and grow their own food. Beds will be ready for you to add seeds/transplants which will be provided as well as any tool you may need. It will be your responsibility to maintain the garden, ensuring it will be properly looked after and harvested in a timely manner. Please see our garden policies below. Half size, full size and accessible plots are available. Once we have received applications we will reach out to discuss are garden launch day! If interested please complete the form by May 31st. Garden launch day will by June 15th. Along with the policies below all members will be expected to cleanup their crops during planned days in the Fall, once gardening season as ended.

Garden Policies:

  • Please keep the weeds down in your plot and the area surrounding it, so that weed seeds don’t spread to your neighbours’ plots
  • Plant tall crops only where they won’t shade neighbouring plots
  • Don’t pick anyone’s crop without their permission
  • You must harvest your plot in a timely matter so crops do not go to waste. If vegetables are not picked, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester have the right to harvest the crops and donate them to the local Food Bank
  • Do not litter. Clean up after yourself
  • Be respectful of other gardeners
