Nick is the Proud Executive Director of the BBBS of Colchester Agency. He first got involved over 6 years ago as a Big Brother to an awesome child named Ethan that Nick considered just as much of a mentor to him. From that relationship, Nick was hooked on mentorship programming and joined the Board of Directors for several years. Now as the Executive Director, he looks forward to working each day with a dedicated, passionate group of colleagues and Board members.
Outside of the Organization, Nick’s a new Dad to a little guy named Dylan. Nick has a passion for community development and volunteerism, having led the charge with several large-scale community-driven events like the Grand Slam of Curling, Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships, World Junior A Challenge, various concerts and more in his former position as Director of Events & Partnerships at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.
As for the big move the Organization has coming up, Nick promises that he’s not just here for the ice cream, but says it’s a nice bonus!

Hi, Donna here. You’ll find me in the front office doing my favourite things, accounting/payroll. I also love the one on one with Big Bucks players that call or come into the office, such nice people! Meeting the Bigs and Littles is so exciting too!
In my spare time, I love spending time at the beach with my hubby and my little dog Bella, walking and visiting with our two grandchildren Dallas and Paisley.
***Very superstitious…..don’t look for me at the office on Friday the 13th**

I’m usually the one who says ‘Good afternoon, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ when you call. My name is Marilyn, and have been the Big Bucks Fundraising Coordinator since 2016. I have the pleasure of interacting with our faithful Big Bucks players when they renew their prepayment or play their toonies here at the office. I also get to work with a great group of volunteers who ‘peel’ those toonies every Tuesday morning.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to 2 sons and a ‘Big Sister’ to Chelsey (since 2011). Now that my boys are grown, I get to have fun with Chelsey – whether we are going to the movies, doing crafts, or even getting groceries. She’s always good to do ‘whatever’ as it just about hanging out. I also enjoy to travel – whether a day trip on the weekends or anywhere a plane will take me, but preferable somewhere with a beach.

Hi everybody! I’m the Marketing and Partnerships Coordinator here at BBBS. I’m the face behind our social media pages and website and you’ll also run into me out in the community collaborating with other local organizations and businesses. The most rewarding part about working for BBBS is helping our Mentoring Coordinators recruit volunteers.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my dog Diesel. I love getting outdoors and being active. Snowboarding is a passion of mine that I developed while living in the Rockies. I’m one of those annoying people who get excited when it snows!
I’m also a proud Rotarian and you might see me around the community with my Rotary family. The Rotary Club of Truro organizes initiatives such as the Christmas Index Program, Bollywood Night, the newly installed Music Park at Civic Square, and so much more.

Hello everyone, Sallie here! I’m a Mentoring Coordinator with the Bigs and Littles Program here at BBBS. I have been with the organization in this role since 2009. I screen and train volunteers, get to know Littles and families, and make and support matches! What I enjoy most about my work is seeing the amazing relationships that grow between Bigs and Littles- it’s very special to be a part of.
Outside of the office, I love to paint and create, cheer on the New England Patriots, spoil my dog and two cats, and I volunteer my time and space as a foster parent to kittens through the SPCA.

Hi all! My name is Ashlee. I’m a Mentoring Coordinator with the Big’s and Little’s program here at BBBS. I’ve been in my role at BBBS since August 2018. Just like Sallie, I screen and train volunteers, get to know the little’s and their families, along with make and support matches. What I enjoy most about my job is how rewarding it is. Seeing the smiles on the Big’s and Little’s faces and hearing their stories is so heartwarming!
When I’m not working, I’m busy doing my BSW degree online through the University of Calgary, spoiling my dog Red, and spending time with my boyfriend, friends, and family! Something I love to do is volunteer. I was a Big Sister with the agency for two years, I’m on the board for the Colchester Adult Learning Association, and also enjoy volunteering my time at Harmony Height’s Elementary School when I get the chance.

Hi Everyone! My name is Mary and I am a Mentoring Coordinator with Big Brothers Big Sisters. In my role, I screen and train volunteers in the In School Mentor program and the Game On program. Over that last 16 years, I have met so many wonderful people and the best part of my job is matching kids with their mentors, seeing their faces light up and hearing about all the fun stuff they do!
Outside of work I love to spend time with my family, my granddog, doing home décor and gardening.
“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself”- Oprah Winfrey.
My name is Shawna, and I am the Mentoring Coordinator for two of our school-based programs- Peer Mentoring and Go Girls! I have been part of the BBBS of Colchester team since 2014, where I have had the pleasure of continuing to fulfill my great passion alongside many wonderful youth and mentors. I love seeing the impact mentors and mentees have on one another, both learning valuable life lessons along their journey together.
When I’m not making matches, I’m chasing around our two young boys and their crazy fur sister. We enjoy beach days, traveling, being active and our cherished time with family and friends. As my children grow, I am looking forward to becoming more involved in our wonderful community.
