2022 AGM: BBBS Colchester board appoints new president, sets new structure, approves 2021 annual report

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester board of directors appointed a new board president and executive structure at its 2022 annual general meeting held Tuesday, April 19.

Retired Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education family of schools supervisor Ian MacLeod was appointed the new board president, taking over for Sabrina Wolthers, who completed her two-year term. MacLeod returns to the position as board president of BBBS Colchester, a position he held previously in the 1990s.

Professionally, MacLeod brings to the board an entire career dedicated to children and youth. Before his recent retirement, he worked in the education system as a teacher, vice-principal, principal and supervisor of principals for 33 years.

Aside from his career, MacLeod has maintained additional involvement in support of children and youth through volunteerism, including approximately 20 years as a coach and vice-president with the Truro Minor Football Association, as well as roughly 27 years with BBBS Colchester as a board member, vice-president and president.

At the AGM, the board appointed and approved the following new executive structure and directors:

In addition to a new board structure, at the AGM the board of directors approved the 2021 annual report, as presented by new executive director Justin Dickie. The 2021 annual report, which can be viewed here, highlights the organization’s successes over the past year and looks ahead to a renewed approach for the organization in 2022.
