Michelle Misener was the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester for 35 years. She cared deeply about the futures of each and every one of the Littles in our programs and was instrumental in the implementation of a bursary program for graduating Littles.
During our 40th Anniversary Gala and Michelle’s last day as Executive Director with our organization, it was announced that the Bursary would be renamed the “Michelle Misener Building Futures Bursary”.
The purpose of the bursary is to encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education among individuals who are involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester.
Bursaries will be awarded based on the number of applications received, availability of funds and financial need of the applicant. Providing the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress as defined by the individual institution, the bursary can be renewed for up to four academic years.
