Come work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester! Fundy Scoops Dairy Bar, our social enterprise that employs youth and raises funds for child and youth mentoring programs, is in need of a dairy bar attendant for the spring/summer season. This is a great opportunity for youth looking to learn about the workforce and build transferable work skills. Experience is an asset, but definitely not required.
Reporting to the social enterprise supervisor, the dairy bar attendant will assist in all aspects of operating the dairy bar business through the spring/summer season, including frontline customer service, cash transactions, food handling and keeping the dairy bar and property clean.
DAIRY BAR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scooping ice cream, making sundaes, milkshakes and other products
- Providing exemplary customer service to visitors
- Practicing safe food handling procedures at all times
- Keeping the dairy bar and property clean, neat and tidy at all times, including opening and closing procedures
- Providing friendly and unbiased interactions with all staff, visitors and other customers while still maintaining professional demeanor and boundaries
- Ensuring accuracy of financial transactions and reporting
- Taking direction from supervisors and social enterprise manager to improve quality of service, and to ensure personal growth.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working hours will vary depending on the needs of the business. Afternoon, evening and weekend work will be required. This role will involve physical exertion, including extended periods on your feet, moving efficiently to fulfill orders, and possibly lifting heavy items.
